Eco-Trip Grant Winners Announced

Eight schools have been awarded ‘Eco-Trip’ grants of £250 to help them support and promote Sustainability through their educational visits.

The organisers, EVOLVE Advice, offered eight, £250 grants to help fund projects by schools in England and Wales that help schools to make their offsite visits more environmentally friendly. We received a large number of strong applications, which is reassuring as it shows that schools are keen to embed environmental principles and deliver educational visits in a sustainable way.

The 2023 Eco-Trip Grants are awarded to:

  • Friars Academy, Wellingborough

  • Hamilton Primary School, Colchester

  • Highbank Primary School, Nottingham

  • Little Ilford School, East London

  • Netherbrook Primary School, Dudley

  • Oaks Park High School, East London

  • Upton-by-Chester High School, Chester

  • Weavers Academy, Wellingborough

Senior Adviser and Director of EVOLVE Advice, Jake Wiid says: “We were really impressed with the passion and creativity in the applications we received. Lots of schools already run successful onsite projects on recycling and biodiversity protection led by Eco-Clubs and Eco-Councils. It’s fantastic to see children and young people so engaged in sustainability issues. These Eco-Trip Grants will enable schools to take this enthusiasm beyond the school site and into making educational visits more sustainable.”
